“Blood Hands” is much of the same, but then “Little Monster” becomes a stand out on the album. However I will say that in my opinion, that with only the drum and bass guitar the music becomes fairly similar at some parts. However for rock music fans, including myself, this album may be classed as a “savior” to the genre, as it gives a breath of fresh air to the rest of the population who are sick of the same old chart music. “You Can Be So Cruel” can be compared to Queen’s of The Stone Age’s music, the vocal performance is similar to that of Josh Hommes. However it keeps up with the feel of the other two singles. “Figure It Out” the third song on the album is also a single, which means that three of the singles have been played consecutively. The second song “Come on Over” opens with another heavy guitar riff, with a resemblance to bands like the Black Keys or White Stripes, “Come On Over” continues the dark theme to the album with lyrics “There’s is no God and I don’t really care”. The vocals on “Out of The Black” are dark n give a good feel to what the album is going to be like. The guitar riffs that are played on a bass guitar ran through and octave pedal to make it sound like a normal six string guitar, give a lot of beef all the songs. The album opens with iconic “Out of The Black”, with a heavy hitting drum beat to kick the album off. It was released on the 22nd of August 2014. The album has four singles “Figure It Out”, “Little Monster”, “Come On Over” and “Out of The Black”. Possibly the most talked about album to be released this year and the one that rocked Royal Blood as a band to becoming one of the most popular rock bands of today, definitely caused quite a stir in the music industry. I think it was inevitable that I had to review Royal Blood’s self titled debut album.
